Melco Conveyor Equipment has extended their use of TransLution into their Bearing Housing and Assembly plant after their successful TransLution implementation in the roll shop. Using the TransLution software allows Melco to use a very simple scanning process to perform multiple complex transactions in Syspro. With a single scan at a single point in the line, TransLution goes back through all the previous job operations and ensures that all the relevant material issues and labour postings are done for each stage of the job.

This is a critical requirement for Melco since it is not possible for them to have a Syspro terminal at each work centre due to the physical constraint of their environment. They needed a system that had the ability to post not only data for the currently scanned work station but also for the previous work stations as well.

Melco was founded in 1970 with the aim of supplying competitively priced, high quality equipment to the South African mining industry. Today Melco is one of the world’s major conveyor equipment manufacturers, and the largest supplier of idlers/rollers in South Africa and Africa. Melco has been a proud member of the Rulmeca group of companies, the largest supplier of rollers in the world, since 2006.

Melco chose AfriSoft and TransLution for this project because of their extensive expertise in the manufacturing environment and because of the success of their previous TransLution implementations.
