Burcap Plastics specialises in innovative rigid plastic packaging that is typically injection moulded and decorated by quality In-Mould labelling. They produce both plain and decorated products, in several size ranges, for various industries including paint, chemical, medical waste, food and edible oil.

Burcap selected Afrisoft Africa to implement TransLution™ Software at their production site Durban. TransLution™ was applied to assist in the receiving process by printing labels for raw materials which are delivered in either pallets or in bags. These labels are scanned to move the stock to the production warehouse by posting a SYSPRO warehouse transfer.

Once the manufacturing process is complete, the finished goods are labelled and TransLution is used to post a Job Receipt to Syspro. The system also posts raw material issues based on this job receipt to create a ‘kit issue’ in SYSPRO.

After production, TransLution™ is further used to scan and dispatch goods against a Sales Order in SYSPRO.

While Burcap have benefitted from better controls and improved accuracy, a key benefit has been the move away from using custom developed software to manage these processes. By using TransLution™ Software they no longer have the same training issues as before. On-going product maintenance and support are no longer issues of concern.
