Rosh Pinah selects TransLution™ Software to help manage spares and consumables
Rosh Pinah, one of the largest and most important lead and zinc mines in Namibia, elected Afrisoft to help lay the foundation for long-term plans for managing spares and consumables in its mining operation.
Afrisoft elected to implement TransLution™ Software in phases, first creating a system that prints a range of barcode labels for Bins, Bulk Bins and products as they are received. All labels are printed as 2D barcodes, allowing significantly more information to be embedded in the label than a standard barcode.
This initial phase lays the foundation for future phases, with the goal to be to manage inventory with processes that include Purchase Order Receipts, Issuing stock to repair jobs and Stock Take. Rosh Pinah also intends to extend the system to do asset and scrap tracking
The Rosh Pinah mine is one of the largest and most important lead and zinc mines in Namibia. The mine is located in the extreme southwest, about 15 kilometers north of the Orange River and 50 kilometers east of the ocean in Rosh Pinah in the Karas Region of southern Namibia. The mine has reserves amounting to 14 million tonnes of ore grading 2% lead and 8% zinc thus resulting 280,000 tonnes of lead and 1.12 million tonnes of zinc.
TransLution™ Software was developed to assist manufacturing, warehousing and distribution companies to better manage their business processes and stock handling. The TransLution™ product is particularly focussed on robust integration to customers’ existing ERP, accounting and stock management software for a wide range of transactions. TransLution™ is distributed in Africa by Afrisoft Africa (Pty) Ltd and in Europe by K3 SYSPRO.
