Afrisoft Africa has successfully implemented TransLution™ Software at a number of Astrapack sites. The latest of these is Marcom, a manufacturer of thin walled injection-moulded tubs, containers, lids and cups for the dairy industry.

At Marcom, TransLution™ is used to assist in managing Job Receipts when production is completed, as well as to track pallets of products. Afrisoft also utilised TransLution™ to develop an accurate stocktake process.

To facilitate job tracking, TransLution™ prints a number of unique job labels in advance. Users specify the job number and the number of labels to print. As boxes of finished product are produced, a box label is applied to each box and scanned. This scan posts a job receipt directly to SYSPRO.

Multiple boxes are scanned onto a single pallet which can then be moved around by scanning one pallet barcode instead of each box barcode.

The pallets are placed into transit and, on arrival at the finished goods warehouse, they are taken out of transit in SYSPRO and stored in a finished goods bin. There is also a function to move pallets between bins and update the stock movements directly in SYSPRO.

The final part of the project assists in managing stock accuracy. TransLution™ Software supports both stocktake and cycle-count functionality where users scan either selected locations (cycle count) or the entire warehouse (stocktake). A supervisor then views and validates the scanned data and the data is posted directly to SYSPRO.
