LH Martinusen, an engineering company based in South Africa, elected to use TransLution™ Software to assist with counting and tracking assets on their site. Blinc Solutions worked with LH Martinusen to implement TransLution™ and ensure the smooth rollout of the project.

Before implementing TransLution™, LH Martinusen was manually recording asset information and then capturing it onto a PC. Blinc Solutions helped them to implement printed barcodes on aluminium plates that can be attached to assets and then scanned. A supervisor creates an asset scanning session and users can then scan all of the assets in the various locations. In this case, a location could be any room such as an office, storeroom or meeting room. Scanning is done using a regular phone that runs TransLution™ for Android, significantly reducing hardware costs.

As the user does the scanning, the locations and the asset barcodes are validated against data in SYSPRO. All the scanned data is recorded against the Asset Scanning Session and various reports and queries are available. Most importantly, these views and reports show the data as it compares with SYSPRO, allowing LH Martinusen to correct their asset information in SYSPRO using the data in TransLution™.

After this successful implementation, Martinusen plans to roll TransLution™ out to the manufacturing side of their business.
