Dickon Hall Foods, a division of Libstar, manufactures a range of culinary products including sauces, marinades, spreads, jams and dressings. They produce goods for some of South Africa’s major food brands including Unilever, Nandos, Nestle, Tiger Brands and McDonalds.

With such a large-scale production process, Dickon Hall Foods selected TransLution™ Software to streamline their finished goods tracking processes.

Implemented by Afrisoft Africa, TransLution™ is used in the production warehouse to print pallet labels for finished goods. Before applying a pallet label the user scans both an item on the pallet the pallet label. The data is compared and ensures that the pallet label matches the item on the pallet. Pallet labels are also scanned to trigger a job receipt to update the production figures in SYSPRO.

From here, pallets are moved to one of two off-site warehouses. This process is managed by creating a Goods in Transit document – scanning pallets against this document puts the pallets into transit in SYSPRO. The list of pallets in a transfer is printed and moves with the pallets as they are transported to the target warehouse. On arrival the pallets are scanned again and are taken out of transit in SYSPRO and transferred to the target warehouse.

Finally, a user selects which sales order to pick. A picking slip is generated with the products and quantities required. As pallets are picked and scanned the data is validated against the sales order in SYSPRO and at the end of the picking process a SYSPRO Dispatch Note is generated.
