Tulisa Cables manufactures cable accessories, extrusions – plastic & PVC, and wire products is using jobs in SYSPRO to manage plant maintenance. The requirement was for a simple way for the maintenance team to interact with these SYSPRO jobs and TransLution™ Software was elected as the ideal tool to deliver the end-user simplicity they required, along with enforcing all the necessary validations in the process.

For preventative maintenance, the jobs are created in advance in SYSPRO but for breakdowns, the technician doing the repair is able to create the SYSPRO Job from within TransLution which allows for a far simpler process for the end user.

During both breakdowns and maintenance, the user is able to tell the system when they are starting work on the job and when they are finished. There is also an option to pause work on a job if required. At each stage, TransLution™ logs the time the activity took place, and a reason is recorded for all pauses and work done.

TransLution™ is also used to manage stock for both preventative maintenance jobs and for breakdowns. The user will be able to select the stock code he requires and then issue that item to the job.

The end result is a system that updates the SYSPRO jobs as required by Tulisa without the technicians needing to learn any of the SYSPRO complexities. Technicians interact with SYSPRO using the simple TransLution user interface.
