Flowe-Pac, a South African packaging materials manufacturer, aims to provide quality, cost effectiveness, and short turnaround time for its manufacturer, distributor, and retailer customers. These aims led them to select TransLution™ Software for a barcoded label printing solution which would allow their customers to receive packaging more efficiently, since product would be pre-labelled for scanning at Receiving. Rolls of product on shipped pallets also needed to be labelled so that the pallets would not need to be broken to label individual bags of packaging.

TransLution™ delivered on these objectives for Flowe-Pac, keeping the process simple and easy to use for Flowe-Pac users. As product comes off the production line, the user enters the stock code. TransLution™ uses this information to fetch the item description, Unit of Measure, and Unit of Measure from the system master data. The user also enters the batch number and the number of labels required. Labels are also printed as products are palletised. The user simply scans all the product labels being packed onto the pallet and if valid, TransLution™ allows the item to be packed onto the pallet. Once the pallet has been fully built, TransLution™ prints a pallet label. The pallet label is a large A4 label and shows details about everything on the pallet. The barcodes are produced in a QR barcode format and there are reprint functions available if labels are damaged.
