Concord Refrigeration, one of South Africa’s leading manufacturers of refrigerated and heated supermarket display cases, had some specific goals in mind when they selected TransLution™ Software for their scanning project in their Durban factory. They wanted to achieve real time stock accuracy in all areas and processes, as well as improve efficiency in their material flows. They also required transactional and process integrity, removing any option for shortcuts or manual documentation.

The initial phase of the project was limited to building a well-controlled receiving process and defining a product transfer process to be used for putaway of receipted goods. Concord selected to implement the TransLution two-stage receiving process in which one user scans all items received against a purchase order, printing items labels if required, and another uses a TransLution grid to review unposted purchase orders before posting to SYSPRO and printing the SYSPRO GRN from within TransLution.

The stock transfer function is used to move receipted stock from the receiving bin to storage bins in the warehouse, giving Concord a well-managed putaway process.
