Mitco Tool Company, a manufacturer and distributor of high-quality hand tools, selected TransLution Software to enhance their warehouse operations and inventory management.

The goal of the implementation was to optimize warehouse operations, reduce errors, and facilitate effective stock control to ensure smooth order fulfillment and inventory management within the warehouse. This was done through the implementation of TransLution’s Sales Order Picking and Checking, Bin Transfer, Cycle Count and Stock Take functionality.

TransLution’s Sales Order Picking functions were implemented to manage the fulfilment of orders, increasing picking accuracy and speed.

Pick slips are generated showing items to be picked and locations to pick from. Picking is performed on a handheld scanner and the stock is transferred to the dispatch bin ready to be checked. The pick slip is then checked using the Sales Order Checking function, further ensuring order accuracy.

Items are scanned to check them against the pick slip and once all items are verified, the invoice is automatically created and printed. A grid provides real time monitoring of pick slips through the picking and checking process.

Inventory is managed and kept up to date with TransLution’s Bin Transfer, Cycle Count and Stock Take functions.

Bin Transfers are performed on a handheld scanner and posted to SYSPRO, ensuring SYSPRO is updated in real time.

Cycle Counts are performed periodically to ensure any stock mismatches are handled timeously. Counting is done using a handheld scanner against a product class or portion of a product class, and counts are displayed on a grid for easy monitoring and verification. Stock inaccuracies are handled by posting an up or down adjustment to SYSPRO.

Stock Takes are also facilitated by TransLution ensuring quick and accurate wall-to-wall stock taking performed on handheld scanners and posted to SYSPRO’s stock take session.
