Pierce, a manufacturer of large construction machinery and equipment, has successfully gone live with the first phase of its TransLution Software implementation.
The initial phase focused on introducing job tracking capabilities that give the Pierce team real-time visibility into manufacturing operations. This replaces the previous manual, tile-based job management system with a more connected and automated process for tracking jobs through work centers, managing material availability and monitoring production progress.
At the heart of the first phase is a job tracking system supported by real-time SSRS reporting. Jobs are displayed as visual tiles, organised by work center and automatically colour-coded according to sales order, making them easier to identify and follow throughout production.
The system reads job information directly from SYSPRO, including job numbers, stock codes, sales order details and ship dates. This removes the need for the manual data entry that was previously required.
Users can now flag jobs that are waiting for material, add custom notes, move jobs between work centers and adjust their sequence within each work center. They can also start, pause and stop operations, giving the team a clearer and more detailed view of how work is progressing across multiple areas of production.
With phase one now in place, Pierce has much greater visibility into where each job is, whether the required material is available and how work is sequenced across its manufacturing operations. This supports better planning and allows the team to respond more quickly when production requirements change.
Phase two is currently being deployed and will extend the solution to include comprehensive warehouse management, standard job issues and material picking capabilities.
