PIP, a distributor of personal protective equipment and safety products, has successfully gone live with TransLution Software across its two-warehouse operation.
The implementation connects PIP’s own warehouse with its third-party logistics warehouse, creating a more streamlined process for transferring stock and managing inventory between the two locations. The project focused on improving the movement of stock from the primary facility to the 3PL warehouse for storage and order fulfilment, while giving both sites clearer visibility of inventory throughout the transfer process.
At the primary warehouse, users can now build pallets, assign unique pallet IDs and create Goods in Transit documents directly in SYSPRO. Before stock can be scanned onto a pallet, it must first be moved into a designated transfer bin. This helps ensure that only authorised stock is included in each transfer.
Once the stock reaches the 3PL warehouse, the receiving team can process the transfer by scanning either the pallet barcode or the individual stock items. The system validates the quantities received and updates the inventory accordingly, helping to maintain accurate stock records across both locations.
The implementation has strengthened communication between the two warehouses and provides real-time visibility of stock on hand, pallets currently in transit and transfers still awaiting completion. This gives both sites a shared view of inventory movements and removes the communication gaps that previously existed between them.
PIP has also implemented sales order picking at the 3PL warehouse, enabling customer orders to be fulfilled efficiently from the inventory stored at that location.
