Riegut Marketing is a high-volume importer and distributor of furniture to South African furniture retailers. Items are purchased in bulk in order to afford retailers competitive prices.

Riegut employs TransLution™ to track product movements between different warehouses and immediately update SYSPRO in order to ensure that SYSPRO stock figures are correct, allowing sales orders to be picked and dispatched.

Each item in the Riegut warehouse is labelled with a unique serial number. As the user scans a barcode, TransLution™ cross-references that barcode to the item list to determine which product has been scanned. Items that have been scanned and moved between warehouses are recorded and all transactions are posted to SYSPRO in 10 minute intervals. This time delay allows transactions to be grouped and posted together in order to reduce transaction volumes in SYSPRO. This key feature in TransLution™ helps to manage high transaction-volume sites.

In addition to determining which item to move, the serialised barcode also allows TransLution™ determine if the item has already been moved before and can produce an error warning. This prevents users simply from scanning the same item multiple times rather than scanning each item as it is moved. This traceability a vital in tracking when products have been moved and in limiting the return of products that have actually been scanned out of the warehouse.
