MPact, a leading supplier of plastic containers in Southern Africa, has expanded their TransLution implementation with the introduction of asset tracking at three of their injection molding facilities: Castle View, Atlantis, and Brits.
After the successful implementation of TransLution Software to integrate systems in their innovative dark warehouse operations, Mpact elected to utilize TransLution to enhance asset management and tracking. The project focused on improving key processes such as asset counting, location verification, and inter-branch asset transfers.
TransLution Software was integrated to support several critical functions. Asset counting and verification was implemented to enable scanning of assets, validating them in SYSPRO, and checking their registered location against their actual location.
Additionally, asset transfer functionality was introduced to facilitate the movement of assets such as injection moulding equipment and tools between the three branches, with assets tracked through an “in transit” location.
The system also includes integration with SYSPRO’s Asset Business Objects, which ensures accurate updates to asset location, branch, and ownership data.
This implementation aims to reduce errors and improve accountability for high-value manufacturing assets. MPact anticipates that these improvements will lead to better control over valuable assets, with clear visibility of asset location and responsibility at all times.
