Empire State Trading Uses TransLution™ to label receiving stock
The Empire group of companies, established in 2005, is one of the largest and most diverse edible nut and dried fruit businesses in South Africa.
Empire has worked with Afrisoft Africa to complete a project using TransLution™ Software to label received stock with barcodes. As items are moved to production, they are scanned and a live warehouse transfer is posted directly to SYSPRO.
When finished goods are received the items are labelled and scanned and a backflush is posted directly to SYSPRO.
A backflush will update stock levels based on the bill of materials for that item. Using a backflush is a simple way to track raw materials but if the stock used in production varies slightly from the bill of materials it will not be managed by a backflush.
Empire State wanted to keep the simplicity of backflush but also required exact tracking of raw material used in each job. They achieved this by using TransLution™ to track the exact amounts of raw material used on each production job. This has created significantly improved stock accuracy for raw material consumption.
TransLution™ software was developed to assist manufacturing, warehousing and distribution companies to better manage their business processes and stock handling. The TransLution™ product is particularly focussed on robust integration to customers’ existing ERP, accounting and stock management software for a wide range of transactions. TransLution™ is distributed in Africa by Afrisoft Africa (Pty) Ltd and in Europe by K3 SYSPRO.
Afrisoft Africa (Pty) Ltd was founded in 1998 to serve the specialised needs of agribusiness, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution companies. Afrisoft provides consulting services for business improvement and distributes, implements and supports TransLution™, AGRIS™ and other business improvement software in Africa.
