SAFETOP® UTILIZES TRANSLUTION™ SOFTWARE TO STREAMLINE CUSTOMER ORDER PICKING IN THEIR 7000M² WARHOUSE SPACE
SafeTop® (Pty) Ltd is one of South Africa’s largest suppliers of fasteners and hardware products in the retail market. Their offering includes 4000 products in their 7000m² warehouse space with more than 150 employees to cater to their clients’ needs all over South Africa and abroad.
With a quickly expanding business, SafeTop needed a dynamic warehouse management system that could cope with a changing technological environment while not losing stability or functionality. Their key requirement was to automatically assign picking jobs to different pickers throughout different areas of their warehouse and arrange these as a whole – prioritised by order date – or as a function of the warehouse manager.
Translution™ Software was configured to fulfil these functions in their warehouse whilst updating SYSPRO to provide staff the ability to track all orders, change order sequence and staff requirements, and alert of any issues with orders.
Each time a Picker becomes available for a new pick job, they scan their identity card and Translution™ Software checks SYSPRO to see which orders are available for picking in their area of the warehouse. The picker is then assigned products or order lines to pick, based on priority that is set automatically by Translution™ Software or by the warehouse manager where necessity dictates. When the pick job is completed the stock is sent to the checking desk for verification and combined with other pick jobs in the warehouse to comprise the order.
When an order has been completely checked in, Translution™ it will signal SYSPRO to generate an invoice. Depending on the size of the order, it will generate a label or labels to display box content per order. Depending on the type of checking done, a packing list is also generated.
An online dashboard is available for all managers in all locations to view order progress, order detail, order issues and specific performance on orders by all associated employees. Real-time variance reports and status updates are a necessity at SafeTop that Translution™ Software satisfies.
