Astrapak Plastop, a division of Astrapak, is the latest site in the Astrapak group to go live with TransLution™. Astrapak produces high volumes of rigid moulded, and thermoformed plastic packaging products. Astrapak Plastop chose TransLution™ Software to pre-print job labels.

These labels are generated based on both the product to be made on the job as well as the job quantity. The correct number of labels are generated per job based on the job quantity and the number of items that are packed into a box or carton. Each label is uniquely serialized to prevent users from scanning the same label multiple times.

When a completed carton is ready for receipt the user scans the unique label and TransLution™ uses this information to post multiple transactions to SYSPRO. Based on the quantity to receipt and the bill of material, the software determines a complete list of raw materials and quantities to issue to the job. These are issued and the job receipt is then also posted to SYSPRO.

TransLution then processes the packing and labelling of pallets. The system generated pallet labels contain both product information and details about the customer the pallet will be delivered to, or simply the item code for pallets not built to order. Pallets are used to simplify the scanning process for users, allowing them to do one scan for many items on a pallet rather than scanning individual boxes.

These pallets can then be scanned for dispatch or for transfer to other warehouses.
