Bosworth, a specialist in the manufacture of conveyor pulleys and forgings, has selected TransLution™ to assist in the manufacturing process. The first phase of the implementation – the introduction of scanning and labelling into the Bosworth manufacturing process – has been successfully completed. The second phase will post data into both Sage Pastel and Bosworth’s own Production Planning System in real-time. This two-phase approach will allow users to become familiar with the scanning processes before integrating it into their business systems.

Six TransLution^™ EazyTouch machines are stationed throughout the factory, each with a document of TransLution^™ created barcodes for the job, components and work station. The floor users are able to scan the barcodes which tracks the work at a work station for a component from start to completion. This process is followed until all work on components is completed for a job, after which a supervisor can print finished goods labels. TransLution^™ provides the functionality to scan and load these finished goods for dispatch.

The project has improved job efficiencies by tracking the time spent on each component in a job. TransLution^™ provides various reports which highlight information on open jobs and the point at which a job/component is in the process.

Additional functionality in future phases will include Issuing items to WIP, Outsource Lagging, Reject Raw Materials as well as a Stoc-Ttake function.
