Weylandts utilises TransLution™ Software to improve receiving, picking and dispatch processes
Weylandts is an international furniture manufacturer and retailer. The organisation has eight retail showrooms in South Africa and one in Melbourne, Australia.
Weylandts chose TransLution™ Software to help improve receiving, picking and dispatch processes across all eight of their stores countrywide as well as their two distribution centres.
Implemented by Afrisoft Africa, TransLution™ Software is used across the business from Receiving, through picking and dispatch.
The Receiving process is used to receive Purchase Orders, SCTs (Supply Chain Transfers) and LCT (Landed Cost Tracking) items. TransLution is use to update all of the stock figures automatically to SYSPRO.
The picking process is also managed using TransLution™ – picking is done against both Supply Chain Transfers (SCTs) and customer invoices. Items are scanned as they are picked and moved to a dispatch cage. In the case picking of component items, TransLution™ forces picking of all components required for an item All items are barcoded either on receipt or by the supplier and the barcodes on the item contain information about component items.
Once a document (either and SCT or an Invoice) has been fully picked, the items area scanned onto a truck and a load sheet is printed. For SCTs, the data is updated directly to SYSPRO. When picking invoices, there is no update to SYSPRO but a key benefit of using TransLution™ is that Weylandts has been given the ability to track invoices outside of SYSPRO. Often an invoice is shipped from a Distribution Centre to a Store. It is not possible to track this in SYSPRO but by scanning invoices as they are moved around, they can be tracked in TransLution™.
Later phases of the implementation will include stock take and cycle count processes.
