Montagu Foods, a Libstar group company, implemented TransLution™ Software with the vision of stock traceability through jobs. The project is focussed on finished goods and will go back to the beginning of the process in subsequent phases.

The first step in the project was labelling finished goods pallets and posting a Job Receipt to Syspro. This allows TransLution™ to build up a stock picture of all stock on each pallet in the warehouse. The system also supports pallets with mixed stock on the pallets.

In order to pick goods for Dispatch, a pick slip is printed from SYSPRO and TransLution™ is used to pick items. Picking of full pallets or items off a pallet are both supported. Montagu uses a grid to see all the lines that are in shipping – they can view the quantity that was ordered, picked, and loaded for all Sales Order lines. In order to dispatch goods, each pallet that was picked must be scanned and this information is used to print a load sheet.

There is also a stock take process – because TransLution™ knows what is on each pallet, all that is required for the stock take is to scan all the pallets in the warehouse.

Montagu utilises reports to analyse data – using TransLution™ they are able see what was shipped to specific stores and also view the data per batch or job. It is possible to view, per job, which customer received the stock and what was made.
