Praga Technical provides one of the most comprehensive metal pressing, manufacturing and tool, jig, and fixture facilities available to the automotive industry in South Africa. A long-standing customer of TransLution™ Software and Afrisoft Africa, Praga recently extended their TransLution™ implementation to build Advance Shipping Notice (ASN) documents for one of their clients (Ford).

Praga receives a daily requisition file from their client which tells them what to manufacture for that day. They also receive a load sheet from the client which instructs them how to pack the items they are shipping out. This load sheet is imported into TransLution and for validation when scanning goods onto the trucks for dispatch. This ensures that nothing is loaded by mistake.

Once the loading process is completed, the required invoices are created in SYSPRO. Users can then select to create an Advanced Shipping Notice. TransLution™ creates the ASN in the required format based on what was loaded onto the truck and therefore what was invoiced. Ideally, everything that was on the customer requisition was also manufactured, loaded, and shipped – however this is not always the case. Rather, the ASN document reflects exactly what was shipped, not what was required or requested.
