Verdeco Recycling elected to implement TransLution Software to automate data recordings of captured information relating to raw material received, quality records, manufacturing execution, stock movement, labor tracking, and shipping. Previously, these captures were all performed manually.

Additionally, Verdeco aimed to eliminate the use of Excel worksheets to import quality data that is required to support the accounting cycle within their SYSPRO ERP software.

By automating these functions, Verdeco reduced the number of errors and simplified the process, and also made aggregated operational information available to operators and management in real time.

The implementation of TransLution Software was divided into multiple phases based on warehouse locations. The first phase of the rollout in the Indiana manufacturing plant focused on raw material receiving, movements, counting stock, manufacturing, and shipping. Each of these activities is recorded as it occurs and the appropriate updates to SYSPRO are managed by TransLution as a product of scanning activities. Phase 1 also included TransLution Standard Job Issues and Job Receipts to help with management of Sales Order fulfillment. TransLution provides accurate, up-to-date stock figures with direct updates to SYPRO as movements happen.

Grids and views provide visibility of raw materials movements from the warehouse to the production line and TransLution also records scrap material and finished goods as they are produced.

Capturing weight prior to shipping was also implemented by TransLution with direct scale integration with use of a Windows PC. This improved shipping accuracy and ensures that Purchase Orders are fulfilled correctly.

Plants in Terra Haute, Indiana and Southgate, California went live with Phase 1 during March 2023 and the new plant in Greenville, South Carolina is for go live in May/June as the new plant comes online. Phase 2 will focus on improving the Quality Management processes with the use of TransLution.
