Berry | Astrapak, a specialised manufacturer of an extensive range of rigid moulded, and thermoformed plastic packaging products serving the African market, is using TransLution at eight of their sites across South Africa. Plastform, the division providing the market with a wide range of thermoformed and moulded packaging, is the latest site to go live with TransLution™.
During this project, TransLution was implemented at Plastform to facilitate the movement and management of stock. The goal was to implement a scanning solution which would assist users to track stock while enforcing consistent and reliable warehouse practices.
After a thorough preparation with TransLution™ Software, SMILE Plastics has achieved their goal and successfully migrated to new servers with Exact Globe and WMS.
Artemis Brands, Africa’s leading baby brand distributor, selected TransLution Software to assist them across their entire warehouse process.
Artemis uses a two-stage receiving process in which one user scans items to be received and another reviews this data before posting to SYSPRO to create a Goods Received Note.
Astrapak JJ Precision is the fifth Astrapak site to go live using TransLution. JJ Precision’s manufacturing operation produces moulds for the food and beverage, personal care, petrochemical and industrial/ automotive sectors.
At this site, TransLution is used to print Job labels and to scan items for job receipt purposes. All job receipts are posted to SYSPRO and once boxes have been receipted, they can be packed onto a pallet as part of a pallet building process. There are also scanning functions to post raw material issues to jobs.
Rialto Foods, one of South Africa’s largest food importers, utilises TransLution™ across a number of sites around South Africa. Rialto owns their two main distribution centres in Cape Town and Johannesburg; however, they use third party logistics warehouses to store and manage their stock in all other locations. This requires careful stock tracking which is facilitated by TransLution Software.
Praga Technical provides one of the most comprehensive metal pressing, manufacturing and tool, jig, and fixture facilities available to the automotive industry in South Africa. A long-standing customer of TransLution™ Software and Afrisoft Africa, Praga recently extended their TransLution™ implementation to build Advance Shipping Notice (ASN) documents for one of their clients (Ford).
Showerline, South Africa’s Premier manufacturer and distributor of customised glass shower enclosures, elected to use TransLution to assist them with their production tracking process.
A key requirement for Showerline was the ability to track production through some custom statuses that give them additional information about the progress of the job through production. Various custom form fields were added to SYSPRO to cater for the additional detail required, and TransLution™ is used both to track jobs through these statuses and to move jobs from one status to the next. In order to save on hardware costs, Showerline implemented the solution with shared Touchscreen terminals running TransLution™ EazyTouch.
Tulisa Cables manufactures cable accessories, extrusions – plastic & PVC, and wire products is using jobs in SYSPRO to manage plant maintenance. The requirement was for a simple way for the maintenance team to interact with these SYSPRO jobs and TransLution™ Software was elected as the ideal tool to deliver the end-user simplicity they required, along with enforcing all the necessary validations in the process.

TOWER, a leading label and adhesive product supplier in South Africa, elected to use TransLution™ in both their Cape Town and Johannesburg sites to assist them with their stock management and production tracking processes. In Cape Town, TransLution™ Software is used throughout the process from receiving Raw Materials, through picking for jobs, job receipts transfers, picking and checking.
Version 5.7 has a large focus on extending the EazyTouch look and feel. This has been done by allowing Super Users to create and manage layouts to control font size, line colour, filtering and grouping on a per function area basis.
Additional changes include the introduction of some tools to assist with managing function area versions. In this release we have added the ability to replace one function area with another on all devices.
Montagu Foods, a Libstar group company, implemented TransLution™ Software with the vision of stock traceability through jobs. The project is focussed on finished goods and will go back to the beginning of the process in subsequent phases.
The first step in the project was labelling finished goods pallets and posting a Job Receipt to Syspro. This allows TransLution™ to build up a stock picture of all stock on each pallet in the warehouse. The system also supports pallets with mixed stock on the pallets.
Halewood Wines & Spirits is one of South Africa’s fastest growing manufacturers of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Halewood have bins in their warehouse that do not exist in SYSPRO, instead using TransLution™ to keep track of stock.
Cape Herb & Spice, a Libstar Group Company, produces a range of core herb, spice and seasoning solutions for the South African market.
The initial phase of the TransLution™ implementation at Cape Herbs and Spice was focussed on the section of the business dealing with tea. The implementation will be extended to Spices in a subsequent phase.
