Anchor Yeast has implemented TransLution™ Software to assist them with various warehouse management functions.

B&J Steenburg Engineering Construction has installed TransLution™ Software to assist them with various business processes.

B&J Steenberg Engineering fabricates multiple metal components and structures, which strictly adhere to the client’s specifications and delivery requirements.

BPW, a UK-based manufacturer of truck axels and sub-assemblies, chose to use the TransLution™ Software’s Windows Scanner and Windows Touch Screen devices in various parts of its factory.

The company BPW Bergische Achsen KG was established in 1898 producing axles from steel for coaches and wagon. Today there are 45 “daughter” companies in 25 countries worldwide. The South African subsidiary, BPW Axles (Pty) Ltd, has been operating in South Africa for over 40 years, manufacturing the latest BPW running gear range and components for all light/heavy duty applications for Southern Africa.

TransLution™ 3.61 is a release that focuses on improving the installation and upgrade process. We are shipping 3.61 with both an install utility and an upgrade utility to upgrade older databases.

In addition to this, we have made some significant enhancements to the General Posting Service and some end-user enhancements too.

Academy Brushware has implemented TransLution™ Software to assist them with their stock take processes.

Academy Brushware produces and distributes a complete range of painting utensils and tools, as well as a wide choice of brooms, for both domestic and industrial use. Academy Brushware also boasts an industrial division where very exact and specific brushes are produced to satisfy the needs of a variety of organisational needs such as road sweepers, rotary brushes, wire-twisted brushes, car washing applicators. These are either machine-made, wire drawn or of manual manufacture. No matter the demands of the customer, they strive to satisfy.

CCG, a specialised manufacturer of cable glands and junction boxes, has chosen Afrisoft and TransLution™ to assist them with warehouse management, specifically managing stock take processes across its various warehouses.

CCG is recognised as one of the major specialised manufacturers of cable glands and junction boxes in the world employing over 200 dedicated people. CCG’s policy of “building in safety” and “designing out complexity” has meant that discerning engineers world-wide have recognised CCG’s products for their time and wastage saving features. Where applicable, CCG Products are internationally certified to British, CENELEC/ATEX, Chinese, South African, IEC and Australian standards. With a fail-safe design, a quality approach to manufacturing and a dedicated international distribution and service network, the following companies, amongst others, have specified, used and put faith in the CCG Products.

Tevo, a South African company specialising in the sourcing, development, marketing and distribution of innovative, high-quality products, has installed TransLution™ Software to assist with a scanner based checking process.

Sales Order Checking is a standard TransLution™ Warehouse Management feature, but Tevo’s requirements were slightly different to the industry norm: the checking needed to be done against customer invoices before goods were shipped. The TransLution setup involves each customer invoice number being entered and scanning the barcode on each item. If the item is not on the invoice, the user is alerted. If the user scans more items than are on the invoice he is also warned. Once the invoice is fully checked, the system automatically prints a barcode label to be attached to the shipment. Items are generally packed into boxes and in order to determine the quantities being checked, TrasnLution uses the SYSPRO pack size rather than having users scan individual items. This also saves the user from having to specify the number of items per box.

The 3.60 release of TransLution is focused on making the product more robust and easier to implement and in addition has the following set of changes that end users of TransLution will appreciate.

We have extended functionality of Quality Manager on the EazyTouch platform to include a new kind of overlay called In Line Data Capture. This enhancement allows operators to capture quality data as it relates to the production environment.

TransLution™ is excited to welcome two new staff members to the team, Mohau Sekese and Monica Molapo, who joined the company earlier this year. We chatted to them about their work, down time and what keeps them up at night.

TransLution™ Version 3.50 Summary

TransLution™ v3.50 contains some exciting new features as well as enhancements to existing functionality. The main areas of development are to TransLution™ Quality Manager, Multi-Language, and ‘off-line’ scanner use for data capture. Other improvements are to the TransLution™ data buffering functionality and document creation functionality integrated to ERP software.

RG Brose, a leading automotive OEM manufacturing components for Mercedes Benz, has chosen Afrisoft and TransLution to assist them with tracking products from receiving all the way through their production process up to the dispatch of finished goods. As products move through the process, live production information will be updated to Syspro.

The process includes labelling raw materials as they are received, scanning products to the production lines, scanning finished goods and doing a back flush into Syspro right through to scanning items for dispatch onto trucks and creating dispatch notes in Syspro.

Supreme Poultry has chosen Afrisoft and TransLution to assist them with tracking and managing their finished goods storage and dispatch processes at their Tigane Plant.

Each pallet that is produced and labelled is scanned by TransLution to update Syspro in real time with a product receipt and to manage the pallet location in the finished goods warehouse. Pallets are scanned and validated against a sales order before they are dispatched and the final information about all pallets on a truck is sent to the weighbridge to manage the truck departure at the weighbridge.

Afrisoft is pleased to announce the release of version 3.22 of it’s TransLution software product. This version introduces some key new features which include enhanced Batch scanning functionality for remote sites and the initial setup forms of its Quality Manager product.

M-Tec (Malesela Taihan Electrical Cable) has chosen Afrisoft and TransLution to assist them with tracking and managing their cable anti-theft data.

Users are able to capture the start and end anti-theft barcode in each strand of a cable and relate them to a specific client. If any portion of the cable is recovered after theft has occurred, the rightful owner of the cable can be easily traced.

After our successful initial implementation, In2food Strand is extending the use of TransLution to include Raw Material Receiving; tracking transfers, issues and supplier returns; and extended manufacturing functionality including backflush of manufactured goods. The system will also perform basic quality control data capture.

The first project focussed on the dispatch process. Each Lug box was labelled with a customer label when it was picked for a sales order. As lug boxes were scanned onto dollies, each scan was validated and a dispatch note was automatically created in Syspro once all lug boxes for a given sales order were scanned.

The Rhodes Food Group is rolling out TransLution at their finished product and dispatch processes at the Ready to Eat plant in Franschoek and will soon be extending the project to cover receiving of raw materials. TransLution is used to manage and track product movement through production, packaging and dispatch and to post transaction updates to Syspro. The Receiving phase of the project will implement scanning and weighing of pallets as they are received and posting receipt data to Syspro for GRN creation. The volumes of product moved means that it is not ideal to post transactions to Syspro in real time so the system will be implemented using our posting service to log all the transactions as they occur but then to sum the data and post it at a predefined interval in order to reduce ERP transaction volume.

Mopani mine is rolling out TransLution through all their warehouses at both their Mufulira and Nkana mines. TransLution is used to scan all product movement into and out of all the stores warehouses and post transaction updates to Syspro in real time. Another project will implement scanning in the underground stores. Under these conditions, it is not possible to post transactions to Syspro in real time so the system will be implemented using our posting service to log all the transactions as they occur but then to post them only when communication to Syspro is established.

There were a number of enhancements in TransLution 3.20. The most significant areas of change focused on the enhancement of the functionality around embedded visual basic, TransLution Visual Basic Provider or VBP. The RF scanner software was also improved both from an end user and a support point of view. For more information, please see our release notes

Melco Conveyor Equipment has extended their use of TransLution into their Bearing Housing and Assembly plant after their successful TransLution implementation in the roll shop. Using the TransLution software allows Melco to use a very simple scanning process to perform multiple complex transactions in Syspro. With a single scan at a single point in the line, TransLution goes back through all the previous job operations and ensures that all the relevant material issues and labour postings are done for each stage of the job.
